N O O K A

Nooka is a company looking to position themselves as a "mindstyle" brand. The campaign should speak the language of high fashion which brings up the difficulty: how to create a high fashion image that engages a wide range demographic for a brand whose products are all accessories and are very small. The main concept for this ad allows the brand to share their experience with the consumer. By using a 3D image and adding 3D glasses to the ad, it engages the viewer to pick up the glasses and put it on, only to reveal a website for them to visit. Upon the visitation of the website, the viewer is introduced to a video component they can watch using the 3D glasses. The video uses photographic stills to create a stop motion animation.

In conjunction with the Papercut Creative ID. The story behind this motion graphics is the process in which paper is made. It starts off by planting a seed, which slowly grows into a plant, then to a tree, then eventually it gets processed and made into paper. The solemnity is felt through the music and the movement in which the motion is translated in the abstract story telling of paper. The cut lines are used throughout to form the visual imagery.

The sound clip for this was taken from the movie Rush Hour 3. It portrays the struggle between language barriers. An American man is having a conversation with an English speaking Chinese man. There is conflict due to miscommunication. Typography was the main element used in this motion and there are many symbolism that relates to the issue. The misunderstanding is symbolized by the Chinese take-out box, which was actually created in America and does not exist in China. The colors used represent the Chinese flag of red and yellow and The American flag of red, white, and blue. A specific typeface is used to differentiate each character speaking in the narrative.
